Race timing on Android. Starts and finishes to the millisecond, net time by bib and results published to the server while the race is still under way.
Replaces the notebook and handheld stopwatch at fun runs, cycling sportives, triathlons, duathlons and mountain races. No cabling and no dedicated equipment.

In FINISH mode the app downloads the start post’s file, matches it by bib and calculates the net time the instant the runner crosses the line.
{{p.d}}
If the start post is still sending runners off, the app reloads its file every 30 seconds and recalculates the net times of runners already finished. Staggered and wave starts work with no intervention.
Upload status is always in view, without opening any menu.
Holding the volume-down key for two seconds makes the phone sound an audible alarm to alert the rest of the team.
Fixed-width, tab-separated plain text, just like the files chip timing systems produce. Imports into any results program with no prior conversion.
{{l.n}} 21 {{l.d}} 00 {{l.t}}
ASCII encoding and CRLF line endings. Every line is the same length: a record that doesn’t match the format is never written, so the importer never meets a half-written line.
A race has no second take. The app is ready for the failures that only show up on race day.

A no-obligation demo on your own course, using the file format your results software already uses.

Records the exact time each bib starts and leaves the file ready for the finish post.
Reads the starts, matches by bib and calculates each runner’s net time the moment they cross.
Any intermediate checkpoint records splits in the same format and uploads them to the same server.

Any reader that emulates a keyboard. Scan the bib and the reader’s own Enter closes the record.
Large bib field and pulse button. Digits only: no dots or letters ever reach the file.
Volume up records a split without looking at the screen. Lets you use an external push button or remote.
Tap any record to correct the bib or time, duplicate it or delete it. Net times recalculate automatically.
Ignores any pulse that arrives before the configured interval. A bouncing push button or two runners side by side won’t create duplicate records.
Every record beeps, so the operator confirms by ear without taking their eyes off the finish line.

Choose the start file from the server. If one is preselected, it starts with a single tap.
When a finish is recorded, it looks up that bib’s start time and subtracts it. Net time accurate to the millisecond.
A strip shows bibs that have started but not yet finished. It empties itself as they come in.
One with the split times and one with results and net times. Both update with every record.

The field filters out anything that isn’t a digit, even what a misconfigured barcode reader injects.
The file is written separately and swapped in all at once. A dead battery never leaves the TXT half-written.
There are never two simultaneous uploads of the same file, however many records arrive in a row.
Rotating the phone or taking a call never loses a record or stops the clock.
Every line is checked before it is written and when it is read. Anything that fails is discarded and logged.
File names without accents or spaces, so no FTP client or importer chokes on them.
